Overcoming that resistance overflows into all other areas of life. We have intermediate/advanced producers join each cohort who still gain a decades worth of techniques, discipline, and learn to conquer writer's block with our tools coupled with flow-state-first workflows.
All students receive a game-changing, fully loaded Ableton production template, built by Savej to eliminate overwhelm and get you into flow state with ease.
The template is loaded with drums, sounds, synth presets, intuitive instrument & FX racks, preconfigured routings, organization, & much more.

Each of the AFC instructors are seasoned, touring producers who hold deep love for spreading these frequencies of creativity into the world and helping others do the same.
Born and raised in the Honey Island Swamp of Louisiana, Savej is known around the globe for his unique and captivating “Ancient Future” sound.
His integration of ancestral medicine music, organic soundscapes, and exotic world instruments with groovy tribal rhythms and Louisiana flavor bridges the gap between cultures and eras.
Savej’s live experience is designed to be a celebratory sonic ceremony, a full-spectrum journey through the human experience, and a reflection of the primordial essence that binds all things - all while infusing irresistibly danceable grooves and heavy-hitting bass.
He has performed and given workshops & talks at many of the most sought after stages and festivals, ranging from the legendary Luna Stage at Envision Festival in Costa Rica to A-Lot at Area 15 in Las Vegas.

Saturna is a sonic story-teller who weaves layers of deeply emotive melodies and organic rhythms with cinematic flair.
A lifelong musician, Saturna is dedicated to stitching together narrative threads into a tapestry of distorted synths, warm throbbing basslines and lush percussive elements.
Chmura is an absolute trailblazer in the underground bass music scene, known for his unique combination of heavy-hitting bass rhythms and lush, cinematic melodies.
With appearances at Envision, Electric Forest, Mission Ballroom, and many more festivals and pristine venues, he's on a well-deserved tearout that's hard to miss.
HABITAAT (Tomas Wischerath) is a multifaceted DJ composer that uses a creative mixture of natural sounds, melodies, and euphoric dance beats to bridge the gap between the natural world and electronic dance music.
Brazil-born and Bay Area raised, HABITAAT’s unique production is influenced by Hip-Hop, cinematic movie scores, and underground club music, with the aim to make you feel like you are surrounded by nature.
HABITAAT has opened for artists like Bonobo, Clozee, Duke Dumont, and Whethan. With a unique fusion of earthy melodic storytelling and a vast range of rhythms and instruments from around the globe.
Mfinity is a shrouded enigma in the realm of electronic bass, weaving melancholic soundscapes that transport listeners to a realm of mystery and wonder.
His musical creations are born from his deeply personal childhood memories and the world around him, stirring a nostalgic ache in the hearts of those who experience them.
His music is a unique tapestry of organic sound design, undulating basslines, and intricately woven beat patterns.
Drawing inspiration from a multitude of musical styles, from ambient and trip-hop to future garage and world bass, Mfinity weaves a genre-defying sound that is wholly his own.
Maz Karandish is a Devotee of music-A well traveled vocalist & multi-instrumentalist coveringgrounds from Rāga, Maqām, and Dastgāh to Harmony, Jazz, and Opera.
Maz feels deeply connected to the ancient musical traditions of the East, which he began learning at a very young age.
As an Ethnomusicologist and a practicing Psychologist, he has come to recognize that people in his generation have an easier time engaging with traditional music when it’s integrated with familiar rhythmic and sonic environments. Maz devotes his musical time to exploring the possible weaving of Indian, Persian, Greek and Turkish music with modern soundscapes.
The sounds of distant lands are served on a platter of familiar body moving bass lines and thumping grooves. Māh Ze Tār is an active performing member of Balkan Bump and has had significant musical collaborations with Desert Dwellers, David Starfire, Jef Stott, Morillo, Akriza, Nyrus, Adham Shaikh, and many others.
Notable performances: Red Rocks, Coachella, Lightning in a Bottle, Gem & Jam, Joshua Tree, Lucidity, Symbiosis, Oregon Eclipse, BurningMan, Oregon Country Fair, Haurkaze Tokyo Festival amongst many others.
Iyakuh creates immersive sonic landscapes blending OrganicDowntempo, Ambient, Textured Beats, Global Bass, and Ecstatic Dance.
Through a collage of nature recordings gathered across the world, his music becomes an intimate auditory reflection of our planet’s diversity. Inspired by lineage, cosmovision, and ancestral traditions, his compositions weave a multicultural tapestry of instrumentation and atmosphere.
Deeply influenced by visual realms, Iyakuh collaborates with filmmakers and visual artists to create soundtracks supporting the preservation of ecosystems, plant species, and cultural memory.

How is this different from the in-person AFC retreat?
–The in-person retreat is an immersive 5-day experience in the Louisiana swamp that includes food, adventures, and hands-on creative immersion. It is not available for beginners, and the curriculum is less thorough due to the time constraint.
–This online cohort offers a slower, much deeper learning arc over 12 weeks with structured integration time (around 15-16 weeks total), regular feedback, optional group production sprints, and live sessions from the comfort of your home.
–It’s also significantly more affordable and doesn’t require travel.
What skill level is this for?
This cohort is designed for three types of students:
–Absolute beginners
–DJs who want to start producing
–People who have dabbled in production but want structure, momentum, and deeper understanding
–You don’t need prior experience with Ableton, but you’ll get the most out of it if you’re willing to practice and stay consistent each week.
Note: We've had intermediate producers join and get just as much out of the cohort as beginners. Our workflows, toolkits, and philosophies will still be valuable regardless of prior experience.
After registering, you'll receive a comprehensive interactive onboarding packet with everything you need to prepare you for this cohort to be life-altering.
What’s the time commitment each week?
–There are two live calls per week (up to 3 hours each)
–Expect an additional 3–5 hours for homework and implementation
–Many inspired students spend more weekly time than this, but the core framework fits a busy schedule
–Optional group production sprints on each non-lesson weekday; these are a gamechanger for accountability and co-working with your peers
–Optional non-music share circles to deepen your relationship with the community
Do I need Ableton Live to participate?
–Yes. This cohort is fully based around Ableton Live. We highly recommend Ableton Live Suite, but Ableton Standard will work.
–Educational discounts of up to 50% may be available via Ableton.com for qualifying users. All you need is an active college (.edu) email address. (AFC cannot provide discounts for Ableton itself) –We’ll walk through the basics early in the cohort if you’re brand new.
Is there a payment plan?
–Yes. Payment plans are available directly through AFC, as well as through Afterpay and Klarna at checkout.
–The installments via AFC break the payment into 4 installments, auto-drafted every 2 weeks, and require no credit check and are interest-free.
–Afterpay or Klarna may be subject to a soft credit check, which does not impact your credit score.

What if I fall behind?
–That’s okay. You’ll have 24/7 access to the recordings, community, and resources on the AFC web app. That said, we recommend showing up for the live calls as much as possible. We believe live cohorts to be more impactful than viewing pre-recorded content.
–That said, you can move at your own pace if needed and still gain immense knowledge and value from the lessons.
–Many students revisit lessons even after the cohort ends to deepen their skills.
Is this cohort pre-recorded?
–No. This is a fully live cohort with two real-time group calls each week.
–You’ll be able to ask questions, receive feedback, and learn alongside fellow producers in an interactive environment.
–All sessions are recorded for lifetime access if you can’t attend live.
What if I can’t attend every live session?
–All live sessions are recorded and shared with lifetime access.
–You’ll be able to catch up anytime, and still receive feedback via the group channel or structured feedback check-ins.
–Some students prefer asynchronous learning with replays - that works too.
Will I get personal feedback on my music?
–Yes. Structured group feedback is built into the flow.
–You’ll also be paired with an accountability partner or small pod to share progress and receive direct input between calls.
–Opportunities for 1:1 add-ons or feedback upgrades may also be offered.
What plugins or tools will I need?
–A small set of core plugins are required and will incur a one-time cost of approximately $200. These are intentionally chosen to fast-track your production and streamline the learning process.
–We’ll also introduce a few free tools and suggest optional plugins to explore - but these are not required to participate.
–You’ll receive clear instructions on setup before the cohort begins via our extensive onboarding packet.
When does it start and how long does it last?
–The Fall 2026 cohort begins in mid-September, exact dates announced soon. The full program lasts about 14-16 weeks due to holiday break and interim implementation breaks, designed to provide spaciousness to really engrain and practice between concepts.
–Live calls are held twice a week, with exact days and times announced before the program begins. Typical call days are Mon & Thurs, 7-9pm CT. This is subject to change based on polling the group once everyone is registered.
–Optional group production sprints are available each weekday there isn't a lesson (3 days a week). These are excellent accountability and deep group focus opportunities to implement the week's lessons together.
–All calls are recorded and available for access via the AFC web app

–Because space is limited and this is a live cohort with digital materials, all sales are final.
